BEAUTIFUL BELLY BASH!
This wonderful event, held on Saturday, April 14th, 2007, was a HUGE success!
The dancers and supporters
of Middle Eastern Dance in this community came together to have some fun and
raised over $1,300.00 to give to Dar a Luz!!
A copy of their letter expressing their appreciation
to us will be out on this page soon as a PDF file for you to read.
The DVD from the show is now available and if you were at the show, you
may purchase a DVD. My sweet husband and I are NOT professional videographers
and the footage is memior quality – at best, but at least we have it.
A fundraiser raises less
and less “funds” the more they pay out for things like a videographer, so we
did it ourselves and things like changing tapes and the camera wandering off
the dancer currently performing on stage are part of the things that happened.
Just so you know… BUT, I was able to
burn it to DVD with it broken into chapters by artist/section.
The DVD begins with footage of Cassandra Ake, Roxxanne & Kira dancing at the
Friday Night Hafla that proceeded the Saturday Night Fundraiser show.
Then it goes with the directors of Dar a Luz telling us a bit about them, the dancers
one by one, a section when the audience enjoyed doing some Debke and open dancing,
more performances and finished with giving the check to Dar a Luz!
NOTE: The footage of the Oasis Dancers performing to Mistaneek was lost.
